Designing a Web Based Geographic Information System Application for Air Quality Monitoring in the Campus Area of X University

Abstract

This research aims to analyze air pollution patterns and develop a program to calculate the air conditions in the surrounding area of University X using Geographic Information System. Air pollution is an environmental issue that will never disappear; therefore, a better understanding and data on air pollution are needed, utilizing spatial information. The system development method employs the prototyping model, and the implementation of this research utilizes XAMPP as the tool and MySQL, PHP, and HTML as the programming languages. As the conclusion of the research the system could be used as monitoring system for two campus.
